This weekend was another bumper one of singing and Christmas cheer! We started on Friday 6th December with our first BIG concert of the season, the Celebration of Life concert at Plymouth Guildhall raising funds for St Luke’s Hospice.
We were joined by one of the winners of our Devon Schools Choir Competition, Uffculme School choir, who performed a fantastic set, despite having several of their number off sick and having a last minute change of set list! Congratulations to Uffculme School, you were amazing!
We were also thrilled to have the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust Choir joining us for a guest slot – they are made up of staff across the two Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust sites and fit singing in whenever they can around their busy working schedules. They love nothing more than to bring joy to people through song and we loved having them with us. Thank you to Sarah Chaplain and the choir for a beautiful set.
After a fantastic night of singing, we were thrilled to have raised just under £7,000 for St Luke’s Hospice. Thanks to everyone who helped in any way to make the evening such a success, and to Luxella Sleepovers for providing the balloon Christmas trees that brightened up the stage.
Saturday 7th December saw us singing outside Exeter Cathedral for the Christmas Market. The shoppers were all very appreciative and we built up quite a crowd, although we did have to compete with George Michael being played over the speakers!
We then rounded off the weekend on Sunday 8th December with a lovely Christmas concert for Exmouth & Lympstone Hospiscare at Holy Trinity Church, Exmouth.
Coming up next, we have a our big concert at Exeter Cathedral for CLIC Sargent on Saturday 14th December, we will be singing some carols and songs at Re:Fuel on Sunday 15th December, as well as visiting two care homes in Sidmouth and Exeter to bring some Christmas cheer to the residents.
