This weekend saw Christmas start with a vengeance! We had 4 sets of carolling in total spread over 3 venues.
Friday 29th November started with two sets of singing at Westpoint Christmas Shopping Fayre on their opening day. We started off outside with cold toes and fingers, then later on moved into the warmth of the café. We managed to bring a smile to the face of many shoppers and sprinkle a little Christmas spirit.
That evening we then moved on to Ottery St Mary to sing for their official lights switch on. Gathering by the Parish Church, we then processed through the town to the council offices and sang to the very appreciative crowd, before handing over to the official switch on. A few more carols and songs and then the silver band continued the festivities. All whilst carrying burning torches – fortunately, all eyebrows still in tact!
The weekend was rounded off with some more singing at Boringdon Park Golf Club for the Jeremiah’s Journey craft fair. This is an annual event raising funds for a well loved local charity and we enjoy taking part whenever we can. Lots of lovely goodies were on sale and the lunches looked amazing!
Coming up next we have our first big concert of the year at Plymouth Guildhall for St Luke’s Hospice on Friday 6th December (tickets HERE), followed by Exeter Christmas market on Saturday 7th December and a concert for Hospiscare at Holy Trinity Church Exmouth on Sunday 8th December (details HERE).
