This Saturday, 16th Novemeber, saw 110 La La singers flash mob the light switch on in Princesshay.
At 4.30pm the square was full of shoppers, fabulous performers from Fools Paradise and over 100 singers who began waving and singing Its Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas. We then took to the stage to complete a set of traditional carols and favourite Christmas songs.
The atmosphere was electric. So many delighted faces and grinning children were joining in. Then at 5pm Sam, La La’s musical director, drew the crowd’s attention to the huge present sitting in the square. The present opened to reveal Andy Littlejohns, retired centre manager and the person responsible for the new, beautiful lights, accompanied by Father Christmas himself!
Sam led the countdown and to great applause the Christmas shopping season was launched with the amazing new light display.
It was a wonderful occasion and a super way to start our Christmas singing season. We are very grateful to Princesshay for inviting us to take part. Fools Paradise were a pleasure to work alongside and the whole afternoon was filled with the community spirit we love from Exeter.
Thank you to every La La who took part. As always, you were amazing!
