So who doesn’t love a bit of Queen?! We certainly do at La La and this year we have been working hard learning our most complicated arrangement to date for “Somebody to Love”. Having debuted it at the Exmouth Music Festival on 26th May, when Sam was invited to do a radio interview recently, a small group of us went along with her to perform our arrangement live on Exmouth Air (formerly Bay FM). You can hear the interview and the song by clicking the links below, or you can go to http://www.exmouthair.fm/ and click on Listen Again for Sunday 3rd June – Sunday Mornings with Howard James.
Group Performance of Somebody to Love
La La is all about having fun and enjoying yourself with singing and this was a new opportunity for most of us and really great fun! I have never performed live on the radio before and whilst a little nervous at the thought, the fact that I had all my La La friends with me just made me relax and enjoy!
If you are interested in learning more about La La Choirs, we rehearse over four nights – Monday in Plymouth, Tuesday in Exeter, Wednesday in Exmouth, and Thursday in Ottery St Mary. We are a mixed adult choir, with men and women of all ages, and there is no need to read music, audition, or anything scary like that! New members are always welcome – particularly men as we are actively recruiting tenors and bases at the moment in Exeter specifically. The first 2 sessions are free so why not come along and see what it’s all about and join in the fun.
