Plymouth Guildhall was rocking on October 11th 2014 at our annual Charity Fundraiser in aid of Hamoaze House this year.
180 La La members sang their socks off across two sets opening and closing the one concert a year we organise and host ourselves in order to raise as much money as possible for our annual charity.
Our guest acts were equally brilliant. We have performed with Semitoned, Exeter University’s competition winning all male A Capella group, before and they were a triumph. This year was no different. Such a talented groups of young men that blend beautifully together. Their arrangements are extremely good and are the perfect mix of quality singing with great entertainment value.
Our second guest act were Big Beat a junk percussion group from Calstock who run workshops and perform all round the South West. They had audience members up on stage bashing out jumping rhythms on big plastic water butts, metal bins, plastic tubing, you name it, it was there.
The audience absolutely loved it. We were so glad to be able to provide such an uplifting night of entertainment and to raise money for such a worthy cause.
We will continue to lay on an annual concert and next year we will be back at The Great Hall, Exeter University. It will be the biggest yet. It’s a national charity, we have a superb guest act that is very well known and a celebrity host! We aren’t giving any details away yet but keep an eye on the website for more information on the concert itself and how to get your tickets. They will fly out so they will be on sale earlier than usual. 2015 is promising to be a very exciting year for La La Choirs.
